Price drop emails are sent to visitors when the price of a product they viewed has dropped. It is easy to set such email using Barilliance Retention

Setting the segment

In Barilliance Retention - > Customers Select product lifecycle - price drop

Run the filter, and Save the segment under a name such as 'price drop visitors'.

Note that visitors are not included in the filter if they bought the item. So the email will not be sent to them

Setting up the email

  • Click 'Campaigns' and New Rule.

  • Select 'Engage Users" action

  • Activate 'Send email'

  • Give the email a name and Select one of the templates

  • Edit the email text to match the price drop content.

  • On the widget section activate a widget and select 'Price drop Products'

  • Click 'Customize the widget' and design the widget to match your desired look and feel

  • Use Send test email section to send yourself example to check the email on different devices.

Testing the email with real users data

You may want to make sure items that are sent to real users make sense (optional).

  • Go to 'customers' and run the filter you created earlier.

  • Click the list view icon on the top right to get a list of visitors.

  • Copy a few email addresses (for example 5 visitors) into the email contains box (comma seperated). so the filter will be limited to them.

  • Run the filter to ensure only the selected visitors are in the segment.

  • Save the segment and go back to the email action in campaigns.

  • Find 'testing real emails' section and set it to send the emails to your email address. and not to visitors.

  • Now in Send email to recipients section activate sending. The emails matching the filter will be sent to your email address. and not to the actual recipients.

  • Check the emails in your inbox (it can take up to 10 minutes to receive them).

Actual Sending

To initiate sending - disable 'Do not send emails to users' option and do a manual sending from the rule or check 'Continuous Engagement' and activate the rule to send to new recipients which enter the segment continuously.
You can change settings in the Retention Segment section of the rule to adjust re-sending behaviour.
